Meet the owners
Two careers in the Netherlands, one bold move to Italy, and a life that keeps reinventing itself.

Before Italy
In Amsterdam, Jeroen ran his own recruitment outsourcing company and Marleen had a 20-year international career in financial services. Life, we felt, should hold more than office lights.

2011–2022
We bought our estate in 2011 and opened Villa NuMoViv a year later, a new way of living, as we called it. Dutch viewers may know us from ‘Ik Vertrek’ (2013). In 2016 the earthquakes in Central Italy made our house uninhabitable and we had to close.
While we waited five years for the rebuild, Jeroen started his furniture workshop and Marleen earned a bachelor’s in interior architecture at the University of Hertfordshire. In July 2022 we reopened, fully renovated, as Colpo di Fortuna: every apartment designed by Marleen, the furniture made by Jeroen.
Since 2022
Besides Colpo di Fortuna
Colpo di Fortuna is our home, but not our only passion. Designing and making things with care runs through everything we do.
Our furniture workshop, where in-house design meets custom making: interiors, kitchens, wardrobes, tables and more. Marleen is the interior designer.
Our own shop in Sarnano: the factory store of Paul Meccanico, maker of bags and accessories. We also hold a 25% share in Paul Meccanico itself.
Visit Paul MeccanicoJeroen also builds websites and web modules, with the same eye for detail as our furniture.
